Are you looking for suggestion to decide which book to buy for your Computer Operator Exam for this year? Great! This post is about that!
Exam is approaching and you should be looking everywhere for a reliable book to give your preparation a final polish. ICT Trends offered plenty of new questions as well as some previous collections from PS Exam (http://psexam.com) site. Please check ‘MCQ Bank’ menu at top.
This year I worked more on Computer Fundamentals part. An eCourse for this portion of syllabus is available to participate for FREE! Please look at the banner on bottom right of this page.
Though I tried hard, time was never sufficient and I’m still unable to complete the content for other chapters of syllabus. I hope it will be possible to complete other two eCourses before exam, but it will be a bit late for you. Thus, I’m recommending you to buy a MCQ book to complete your preparation.
As planned and announced earlier, I had to come up with a name of book last week but I pushed it forth. The honest reason of this delay is that I wanted to compare Operator Guru (which I recommended last year) with other available books in the market. Chhatra sir informed me that the new version of Operator Guru is releasing by the end of Falgun. I wish I could check if the errors on the book are corrected and new additions are truly valuable. But the book is not yet in market and the time is passing by.
Yesterday, I went to the market to look for new books and updated editions. Operator Guru by Chhatra Bhattarai and another by Chhatra Khanal, Computer Operator Google by Er. Subhash Chandra Gautam and Babu Ram Adhikari are among the most popular ones. Operator Guru is the one I bought last year and it’s a good book though it contains some errors on answers. After inspecting and comparing the books, I finally decided to recommend “Computer Operator Google” and bought that book. I always buy and read the book before I suggest it for others, but this time the story is a bit more interesting.
The book is nice by its size. It is not the short and thick but wide and thin which makes hands free reading much convenient.
It is published in 2012, so most recent and fresh! Thought it is fresh, I wish if they had included IT Policy 2010 rather than old policy 2000. Anyway, you can download new policy and read it separately.
Another good thing that attracted me is the extended theory explanation and illustration. They are compact, condensed and most useful.
It has explanation on almost every main keywords used in Computer Science. The explanation are of pretty standard quality. Great!
More than enough multiple choice questions presented. Some of them are silly but overall they are worth paying attention.
A page with Correction List is provided on a separate loose sheet which contains the correct answers of the mistakes made while printing the book. Make sure the page is in the book.
The price of the book is marked Rs. 465. I bought it for Rs. 350 after a brief bargain. I’m not much good at bargain. I guess you can get more discount than i got!
The book does not provide any contact information to reach up to the authors except the phone number and email address of publishers. You can use the phone and email to contact them if you did not get the book in your locality.
Phone: 977-1-4435148 email: email@example.com address: Makalu Prakashan Ghriha, Dillibazar, Kathmandu.
To my utmost surprise, the book also contains 4 sample practical question sets. And even more surprising and is that all those 4 sets are directly copied from ICT Trends. The text http://icttrends.com on question number 5 of Sample Set 3 is also printed without change (look at page number 479). Similarly page number 480 question number 5 also contain “ICT Trends Preparation for PSC Exam”.
So, though my website is not credited properly (reference not mentioned and not thanked in Acknowledgement too) for these practical sets that they copied and used in their book (and I don’t know yet, what else they have imported directly ), at least my questions are shouting from where they are snatched away! Hahahaaaa…
Whatever, even if I did not get any money for my content that they will make selling the book, I’m happy because the book is truly useful for the candidates of Computer Operators. You can buy this book and use it for your preparation. If you are confused anywhere or find errors to muddle you, I’m always there for you. Don’t hesitate to contact me.
Wish you good luck for the exam. Work hard!
