Google Changed Search Result Page, How to Get The Old Back?

I noticed it just today here in Kathmandu, that the search result page of Google is drastically changed! A nice Google logo is placed on the left hand side just below the navigation bar to the left of search input box. A left panel is introduced to make search even enjoying. Now you can filter results like Everything, News, Images, Videos, Blogs, Updates, Discussions etc. Similarly it is possible to filter with respect to time as well. Now you can display the results from within 24 hours or past week, past month, past year and so on. Page Preview feature has made it possible to view the sample of page you are going to visit. Lots of changes indeed!
Another useful feature I noticed improved is ‘Search within results’. It was what I always felt when making some serious searches. Its great now!

The right panel of Search Result Page is blank for now. I guess if Google is going to use it to show Ads?

These new changes has thrilled to many and I found some are even worried. One genuine reason for somebody to dislike the change is ‘huge waste of whitespace’. This has given problems to browse Search Result Page on small screens. A_N_M complains on Google Support Forum as: Continue reading

Secrets of Google PageRank for ICT Trends

Though not everything, Google PageRank is considered as a major factor to judge any website. Having higher PageRank is a matter of pride; and feels a kind of reward of ‘all day and night donkey work’ that a webmaster or blogger has put into.
It’s so cool to look at the Google toolbar and find the PageRank button half filled with that lovely green color! I guess the major two factor are: search engine optimization and back links. The minor factors must be traffic and domain age. And yet more, I guess, is domain name and hosting.

Domain Names — Longer the better

Many people are registering long domain names in order to get their websites ranked on top of the search engines. It is another way to generate traffic for a minimal cost.
Search engines tend to like words that are separated by dashes (little known secret!). People have been registering keywords as domain names to target search engine results but now you can register multiple keywords using this method. Mind you, you still need to be selective and do your research. This latest internet marketing technique is already being used by thousands of people Continue reading

The First Step of Blogging – How to Start?

Today, I liked to remember those days. The days when I was so new and shining. New and shining because, domain names, hosting, scripts, CMS and most importantly SEO, all  sounded like strange and too technical to understand.  I don’t know how, but come to know that it is possible to earn some money through blogging. Because everything was so new, I was not less skeptical than anyone of you who has never earned online money.
Its been so long. Today, I liked to remember those days. I liked to
