What is Current Section in Word?

Never used ‘Sec­tion’ com­mand any­where when cre­at­ing doc­u­ment but you find ‘This Sec­tion’ in drop down boxes as in fig­ures below? Ever won­dered what this cur­rent section is?

Well, if you have inserted sec­tion breaks (Insert » Break) then you cre­ated mul­ti­ple sec­tions in doc­u­ment. You can set a dif­fer­ent for­mat­ting spe­cific to that sec­tion only such as dif­fer­ent header/footer, page num­ber­ing, col­umn, paper size, ori­en­ta­tion and mar­gins and so on.

You will get sur­prised to see it if you never used sec­tion com­mand in your doc­u­ment. But be aware that MS Word inserts sec­tion breaks auto­mat­i­cally if you selected…
