Model Question Paper Set 1

I hope you’ve downloaded the model question papers. If you are confused on any of the question, this post is about that. I’m giving hints to all of the questions from Set 1.

First of all, make your working folder on desktop and name it your symbol number. You can find your symbol number printed on admit card.

Right click on the desktop and choose New >> Folder (Alternately, you can click on empty area of desktop and press Ctrl+Shift+N). You’ll see an icon of a folder on desktop and description highlighted. Simply type your symbol number and hit Enter.

Question Number A1

This is a simple question. Open Microsoft Word if you have not already (Windows key + R, then type Winword and hit Enter). When MS Word loads, start typing the given text. Remember to superscript (Ctrl+Shift+=) the characters st, nd and rd on second paragraph. Don’t forget to underline (Ctrl + U) the word Computer in third paragraph. Finally, Press Alt + Ctrl + C to create copyright symbol on the last line and make it right aligned.

Save the file inside your working directory with given file name.

Question Number A2

Place the insertion line inside first paragraph and click Format >> Drop Cap (Office 2003) or Insert ribbon >> Drop Cap button on Text group >> Drop Cap Options (Office 2007 or 2010). Click Dropped from position, choose Algerian from Font and type 0.4 in the ‘Distance from text’ box.

Click OK to apply and close Drop Cap dialog box.

Question Number A3

Select second paragraph (triple click the paragraph) and go to Format >> Columns (Office 2003) or from ‘Page Layout’ ribbon click Columns >> More Columns on Page Layout group (Office 2007 or 2010).

Type 3 in ‘Number of columns’ box and remove mark from ‘Equal column width’ check box. Type 1, 4 and 1 on the Width box of first, second and third columns respectively. Mark the ‘Line between’ check box.

Remember there should be ‘Selected text’ in ‘Apply to’ box. Click OK to apply and close the Columns dialog box.

If it does not accept the 1,4,1 column width, you should decrease the margins so as to provide sufficient writing space to accommodate three columns and space between columns.

Question Number A4

Select third paragraph. Open Format >> Boarder and Shading (Office 2003) or Home ribbon >> Border button on Paragraph box >> Borders and Shading (Office 2007 or 2010).

Click on Shading tab and choose gray color from Fill box. Click Borders tab and choose double line from Style box, blue from Color box and 1 1/2 pt from Width box.

Make sure ‘Paragraph’ is selected on Apply to box.

Question Number A5

Place the insertion line inside third paragraph and open Paragraph dialog box (Format >> Paragraph in Office 2003 or Home ribbon >> Paragraph dialog launcher in Office 2007 or 2010)

Choose Justified in Alignment box. Type 2 in Left and Right boxes under Indentation group.

Click OK to apply and close Paragraph dialog box.

Question Number A6

Click on View >> Header and Footer (Office 2003) or Insert ribbon >> Header >> Edit Header (Office 2007 or 2010). Type the given text in header box. Click Close to close header editing screen and come back to Page Layout View.

Click and place the insertion line just after the word ‘Computer’ that is underlined in third paragraph. Go to Insert >> Reference >> Footnote (Office 2003) or References ribbon >> Insert Footnote button (Office 2007 or 2010). Type given text in footnote area.

Press Shift + F5 to return to your earlier position.

Question Number B1

Start Microsoft Excel if you have not it already (Press Windows Key + R and then type Excel and hit Enter).

Enter the given data in columns A and B and save it with the given file name.

Question Number B2

Place the cell pointer in B3 to calculate Rate. Enter the formula

= IF ( AND ( B2 < 5, B1 > 100000) ,  14 ,  8  )

Question Number B3

Place the cell pointer in B4 and type following formula to calculate Interest

= B1  *  B2  *  B3  /  100

Question Number B4

Place the cell pointer in B4 and go to Tools >> Goal Seek (Office 2003) or Data ribbon >> What If Analysis on Data Tools group >> Goal Seek (Office 2007 or 2010)

Type 80000 in To Value box, type B2 in ‘By changing cell’ box. Click OK.

Goal Seek will display status dialog box with required value in B2. Click OK to accept it.

Question Number B5

Select the data area. Go to Format >> Cells (Office 2003) or, Home ribbon >> Cells Group >> Format >> Format Cells

Click on Border tab. Choose thin line and click on Inside button. Now choose thick line and click on Outline. Click OK.

 Question Number B6

To set header and footer go to File >> Page Setup and then Header/Footer tab (Office 2003). Click on Custom Header button and enter the given text in the header box. Similarly, click on Custom Footer and place insertion line in any of the footer box. Now click page number button just above the boxes.

Question Number C1

Open MS Access if you have not already (Windows Key + R, type msaccess and hit enter)

Create a new database and name it with given file name. (File >> New >> Blank database… Choose your working folder to save file in and enter the name provided to save database file.

Click on Tables object and Create table in Design view. Create the given fields by entering field name and selecting suitable field type. Don’t forget to make StudID as primary key. Save the table as Student.

Similarly, create table Fees and make FeesID primary key.

Question Number C2

Open Fees table in Design View and change field type of StudID to run Lookup Wizard. Select StudName to display when entering value for StudID field.

Question Number C3

Because the query fields are from both of the tables, you should use both of them. To create query,

Click on Queries object and double click Create query in Design view. Select both the tables and click Add on ‘Show Table’ dialog box. Close the Show Table dialog box.

Drag FeesDate from Fees table and drop in to the first column of query builder panel. Drag StudName from Students table and drop into second column. Similarly, drag FeesMonth and FeesAmount from Fees table and drop in the third and fourth columns.

Save the query and run to see the result.

Question Number D1

Start PowerPoint if you have not done already. (Windows Key + R, type powerpnt and hit Enter)

PowerPoint starts with a blank presentation. From Format menu choose Slide Layout. Choose a layout with Title and Text.

Enter ‘Computer Generations’ as title five generations as text.

Question Number D2

Select the text box of text area and click Slide Show >> Custom Animations. Click on Add Effect >> Entrance >> Fly In.

Save the presentation file with given file name inside your working folder.

Type following HTML code in Notepad.

    For The MS Access Question C2 Set StudID Field of Fees table so that it will display drop down box with student’s Name when entering data. Mean here we find by answer that In Field StudID of Fees table is StudName. But I think the question asking for the value field of same StudID from Student table
    showing the StudName.
