Secret of Getting Twitter Followers

The past three weeks we covered the three steps of BLOOGING – Creating, Promoting and Monetizing. So we have completed one iteration of this cycle. From this post, I’m starting the second iteration.
Concluding the second week ‘Sunday Post’ Second Step of Blogging - How to Promote?, I asked you to start with Twitter. I hope, by now, you are aware of look and feel of Twitter and might have realized how hard it is to get genuine followers who really help you out. I know. That’s why I have started today’s post to share the secret of getting twitter followers; to save you from drowning in despair. You will see the results immediately from the second day. I’m sure you will collect great number of followers.

If you came to this post directly I ask you to go through the First Step, Second Step and Third Step before you continue. We are walking through steps to start effective blogging and roadway to successful blogger. OK, now back to the topic.

I don’t think I need to explain the importance of Twitter and its tremendous uses and benefits. Remember David Risley states, if you know and using FaceBook, Twitter, Emails, you are already ahead of millions who are still coming tomorrow in this world. You can understand the importance of Twitter from the fact that Risley puts ‘Create Twitter Account’ and ‘Twitter Feed’ within the top ten suggestions. This is something you can never ignore, whatever be the excuses. If you are still wondering about its uses you can easily realize when you know Why I add Digg Twitter Reddit Facebook (how to add?) buttons in my blog. Twitter can be very effectively used to decide what should be my next post when you are writing to gain immediate results.

What’s the secret?

The precious are expensive. You need to toil harder to achieve greatest success. Accumulate a large courage to climb very high mountain. How can you accomplish a complicated task? One step a time.

Step 1. Twitter Profile

Your twitter profile is the one that says Hi or Bye to everyone who wishes to follow you. But be careful! Don’t over do.
The default profile without photo, location and Bio proves that you are still a baby – not worth following. On the contrary, I have seen some profiles that looks like hoarding board - always toiling vibrantly to push sell and earn from me.
Thus, think whom you wish to invite following you. Upload your own picture than anonymous avatars. Compose sweet and informative Bio. Make your profile informative, simply elegant reflecting your honesty.

Not yet configured your Twitter Profile? Go to https://twitter.com/settings/profile

Step 2: Follow and then Unfollow

When you fresh start a twitter account, it feels like you stand inside a large auditorium all alone. You are not hearing anybody speaking; you find nobody to talk to? So, initially you need some people whether they are good or they are bad.
You can follow some great, already well established tweeple from Twitter Suggestion list. Go to https://twitter.com/invitations/suggestions and choose your niche category then follow some great people there. If you ask my experience, these people are great to learn from but will hardly respond a kid like me. They are good to speak to me but I can’t expect them to listen me.

We are talking here to get followers. So the secret ‘Follow and then Unfollow’.

Lets collect whatever people and then start unfollowing them. Did I hear crazy? No, it works! We will follow everybody we can get from our niche then start watching their tweets and unfollow each one whose tweet smells bots, profanity, irrelevancy, spam. At the same time create a ‘List’ and assign the list to those tweeple who look worthy following. I know there will be more than 50% bots from that collection, and other 25% spammers. There will hardly remain 20-25% genuine people whom you can start building relationship. Wondering where to collect whole lot of followers? Go to http://www.icttrends.com/get-instant-followers-for-your-twitter.html. The good thing is that you can specify keywords that reflects your niche and it will show people from twitter who have similar interest.
Log on to Twiends every 15-30 minutes to find more people to follow. This way you will be collecting followers and following others as well. You will start to see the tweets of other people and can start talking to them. Anyway, your account got some activity. After you use Twiend for two or three days, you can decide if you still wish to continue it or forget it for ever.

Step 3 Visit Blogs and Follow the Blogger

Now you have a twitter account with considerable followers and great helpful tweeples whom you have followed. Its time to go for hunting fellow community. A great source is their blog itself. Most of the blogs incorporate a twitter gadget. If you have not done so for your blog, don’t delay. When you are reading a post related to your blog niche, don’t forget to tweet that post and follow the blogger. Send her a mention message in tweeter about your feelings on the post you’ve read. Thank her, greet her. You’ll certainly find her following afterwards.

Step 4: Spend some time in Twitter

Yes, you need to be generous. Retweet the tweets sent by other tweeples. Post message asking questions. This will raise attention and people will respond. After you get answers you can confirm them as genuine – not bots. Try to be helpful. Be polite. Try to increase the number of your tweets. Don’t forget to tweet after you publish every new post on your blog. The more time you can allocate to tweeter, the more benefits you’ll harvest. And it is necessary to give more time in the beginning because you are not yet established. After you are recognized people will care what you speak and fewer tweets will produce greater responses. But in early days you must spend more time.
Use mention symbol ‘@’, direct message symbol ‘d’ and search tag symbol ‘#’ when you are posting message wherever relevant. You want to reply any tweet that you wish to display all of your followers too use @usernme in the message. If you wish to send to a particular user only use d usename in the message and to include search tag use #term.

Step 4: Follow Twitter Visitors of Your Blog

If you are using tweeter gadget in your blog you can track the recent twitter visitors on your blog. You can follow them because they are not the bots and has interest in the content you are presenting.
Don’t forget to use @icttrends, d icttrends and #icttrends when you post message so that I will notice and follow you. The ideas present here are my personal experience and would welcome the discussion or disagreements. But please don’t forget, I was talking to those readers who have just started their twitter journey and I loved to help them find genuine and useful twitter contacts.

Yes, automatic follower moreover will collect almost all spam bots, which is completely useless. I used Twiends a couple of times and the good thing about Twiends is that it suggests you a handful of tweeps that you can decide whom to follow or not. Moreover Twiends did not followed or collected followers without me personally looking upon the members. So its safe and will collect better people.
