well, 65,536 is the 16th power to the number 2. I assume that has something to do with the programming of excel and the capabilities of of processors the time Excel 2003 was released.

yes, but the limitations here is mentioned for computer operator exam preparation. The course syllabus is still following 2003 in our part of world!
