It was a couple of months ago Infolinks – another in-text advertising network reduced the payment threshold down to $50 for PayPal payment method and now its the turn of Kontera!

It was on May 3 I received an email announcing this great news! Good thing about this change with Kontera is that they are applying the new threshold to all type of payment methods.

As one of our valued Kontera publishers, we’re excited to inform you that as of May 3rd Kontera is lowering the minimum payout threshold from $100 to $50!

The best In-Text Network has just gotten even better, with this new change literally cutting in half the time it takes for our publishers to take home their revenue share!

The lowered $50 payout minimum is applicable across all payment methods, including Check, PayPal, Wire Transfer or ACH.

If you wish to take advantage of this new payment threshold, you can simply change your payout minimum to $50 by visiting the Payout Method page in the Publisher Center.

Payment terms are Net 30, so if you reach at least $50 in your April account balance you would be paid that amount come June 1st. If you want these changes to take effect for the June 1st billing cycle, you should update your Payment threshold by May 15th. Any updates made after the 15th to an account’s payment details will take effect two billing cycles later.
This $50 payment threshold initiative is just the first in a series of exciting changes Kontera is unveiling in the next couple of months to show our publishers just how much we value their partnership.

Now I’m waiting for the day when Google Adsense will announce similar news soon!

Do you think Google will reduce the payment threshold?

Kontera is not spam. But based upon your website type you might earn too little. Its good if your niche is high paying and you have lots of visitors for your site.

For me as my experience shows, Infolinks pays much more than Kontera. I’m implementing both Kontera and Infolinks for my site and the report shows higher earning from Infolinks. But it might be different for others.

    Hi Suresh,

My name in Jonathan and I’m the Community Manager at Kontera.

After reading that you make money more through Infolinks than Kontera, I grew curious because it’s usually the other way around, and took a look at your account.

Basically what’s going on is you’re putting both Infolinks and Kontera on your sites at the same time. Aside from technically being a violation of the Kontera Terms of Service, this is also costing you money.

Just to clarify, we have no problem with you running other ad networks on your website at the same time as Kontera, just not other In-Text networks. This is because the two In-Text ad networks would just interfere with each other. Like say both Kontera and Infolinks were both trying to highlight the keyword “Suresh” on one of your webpages. Only one In-Text ad could be shown on the word, meaning you’d never get an accurate picture on which network is performing better.

Also remember that only Kontera offers an exclusive, premium ad inventory from such recognizable name brands as Ford, Samsung, Intel, Dove, L’Oreal, Blackberry, Dominos, and Kmart. These coveted, often Rich-Media ads are only available through Kontera, and offer the highest CTR and best CPC rates. Infolinks in comparison only uses generic ad feeds.

Kontera is currently offering a 70% revenue share for all new publishers, which is the highest in the industry and even though you’re not a new publisher I gave you the more favorable rate while I was looking at your account.

My suggestion is take Infolinks down for a while and see how Kontera performs on its own – I think you may be pleasantly surprised :)

    Thanks,

    - Jonathan

Aahh! You might be right. Because I’m using both network on same page, Infolinks might be grabbing the keywords. OK, I’m withdrawing Infolinks for one months and inspect the difference.

Thank you for your concern and suggestions. I appreciate.

My experience with Kontera is not very pleasing yet but I’m suggested to run only Kontera for some time to realize the difference. I’m turning off Infolinks for some time and watch the resutls.

So, you favor Kontera? Let me have a fair time to conclude. I agree about irrelevent ads.
