YARPP for WordPress Blogs!

List of related posts at the end of you blog posts are the best way to reduce the bounce rate and keep your readers engaged on your blog. Moreover, the related posts will help the visitors find links to dig more without making a search.

But displaying related post at the end of your article requires you to to record and track your pervious posts to link with them. Doing it manually would kill not less time than composing a post itself.

Why not to implement some automated method? What if a tool analyzes and selects your previous posts automatically and makes them ready to display with your posts?

Yes, YARPP is there if you are using WordPress. All you need to do is install the plugin and configure some settings. Everything is pretty simple.

Click here to download YARPP (Yet Another Related Posts Plugin) and upload to your WordPress blog. Or, you might find it convenient to search for ‘yarpp’ from your ‘Add New’ button in ‘Install Plugin’ page?

After you install the plugin visit the setting page for YARP plugin and specify your preferences there. I found the default settings perfect for me and did not have to make any modifications there. Might be, you are not as contented as me ;-)

This is a good way to refer your previous posts to your readers as their extensive reading. If you are interested to point them to the posts from other blogs in Internet, use Zemanta. This plugin will look for related posts, images and tags that are related to your post and suggest you. It will be much more convenient and fun blogging. I’ll be talking about ‘How to’ of Zemanta some other time. For now be happy with YARPP!

      Its a great idea to present the related posts plugin both for WordPress and Blogger on the same post, so that anybody is searching for blogger platform or wordpress could be equally benefited. Anyway, if you are interested to show ‘Related Posts’ in your blogger paste following code just after < data:post.body > on your template HTML.

      var homeUrl3 = "";
      var maxNumberOfPostsPerLabel = 4;
      var maxNumberOfLabels = 10;

      maxNumberOfPostsPerLabel = 100;

      maxNumberOfLabels = 3;

      function listEntries10(json) {
      var ul = document.createElement('ul');
      var maxPosts = (json.feed.entry.length <= maxNumberOfPostsPerLabel) ?
      json.feed.entry.length : maxNumberOfPostsPerLabel;
      for (var i = 0; i < maxPosts; i++) {
      var entry = json.feed.entry[i];
      var alturl;
      for (var k = 0; k < entry.link.length; k++) {
      if (entry.link[k].rel == 'alternate') {

  2. Great post. I have been using YARPP for about a month now. I like it a lot, and it works great. Have you had any issues with it? I noticed that some plugins can interfere with it if they are of post type of plugins.

  3. So this plugin will analyze every post? Oh my this is really nice! Thank you for the good news. :)

  4. Nice tutorial here. Adding related posts or pages to your site is definitely an easy way to add to the user experience by allowing them to view even more content they might be interested in.

  6. I have been getting mixed reviews and feedback for YARPP for quite sometime. But, this post of yours makes it quite evident that its definitely gives you on edge over shabby bounce rates. If we use the titles wisely we can reap maximum benefits using this super cool plugin. Thanks for your detailed illustration.

      YARPP is useful not only to reduce bounce rate but also to add SERP. The links back to the posts with complete titles helps to build up internal linking system. Both sides are bright!

  7. Many people like to know when they comment that someone is listening. The way to let them know that there is someone behind the computer screen who cares what they say is to respond when they say something.

    i definitely love your posting kind, very interesting,

    Why not to implement some automated method? What if a tool analyzes and selects your previous posts automatically and makes them ready to display with your posts?
    Over at auto transport online quote we do this and it works very well.

  13. The power and versatility of WordPress just doesn’t cease to amaze me. If there is anything you’d like to do in with or in WordPress chances are that somebody else has already gone down that road and that there is a plugin to solve your particular challenge or need.
    Related posts at the end of your current headline post gives your audience the opportunity to explore more of your work along a similar vein, without having to search too hard for it. Visitors are notoriously lazy, and by having a Related Posts plugin active on your WordPress blog you are literally spoonfeeding them and keeping your visitors on your website. It is the way things work ;-)
