Public Service Commission yesterday published vacancy announcement for Computer Officers post for different government offices. This time there are 4 seats for open competition and 1 seat for internal competition.
Computer officer is Gazzated third class officer. Above him/her are under-secretary, joint-secretary and secretary.
The examination is conducted with four papers in two stages. The first stage consists of an objective exam of 100 marks and a subjective exam of 50 marks. For the successful candidates of first stage there runs Practical and Interview in second stage exam.
Let’s talk about subjective question paper.
Computer Officer syllabus has clearly indicated that there will be four sections on question paper namely, A, B, C and D. Candidates require to answer each section in separate answer sheets. The paper has full marks of 50 and pass marks is set to 20. There will be 5 questions each carrying 10 marks. A question may have two or more sub questions too!
This section contains the questions from two units – 2 & 6:
Data Structure and Algorithms
Programming Language (C, C++ & Java)
This section contain the questions from unit 3:
System Analysis and Design
This section contain the questions from unit 4 and 5:
Database Management System and Design
This section contain the questions from unit 12:
IT in Nepal
There will be 5 questions from these four sections. Two questions are to be asked from section A and one question from each of other sections.
