It has been a series of posts, talking about Search Engine Optimization and Ranking. In my last post, we’ve seen how a blog is optimized to ensure maximum visibility in search engines with an example post from BloggingJunkie.com. I am honored to present an interview with the owner of that blog Imran Yousaf.
Imran Yousaf has bachelor’s degree in computer science and secured master degree in Business Administration with majors in finance. Recently started a blog titled BloggingJunkie and spends most of time on laptop for blogging related activities.
A bold man with distinct intention, loves to play High Tech Computer Games. Lets welcome Imran Yousaf – a banker by profession, a passionate blogger and a small kid who loves to play his NFS!
We are taking with Imran in relation to Search Engine Optimization techniques he implemented in his post. If you came here directly, its better you go through "An Example of Perfect SEO - BlogingJunkie" (opens in new window) before the interview below:
An Interview with Yousaf Imran
Me: Welcome Yousaf to ICT Trends. First of all, let me congratulate you for achieving PR 2 within 45 days!
Yousaf: Thank You very much Suresh. Its nice to have chit chat with you.
Me: I introduced you as a banker, blogger and a kid who plays NFS. How would you like to introduce yourself?
Yousaf: You have precisely describe me in your words. I am Imran Yousaf, a banker by profession. Besides my full time profession, I love blogging, developing websites and blah blah blah. And when I want to get refresh or want to free my mind, I play NFS carbon or Underground.
Me: Why BloggingJunkie? Did you find blogging more interesting than banking?
Yousaf:I found Blogging a way to express my ideas, knowledge, and experience. Comments and discussion attracted me to start Blogging. After starting blogging, I found that I am addicted to blogging. I mostly surf blogging websites and when I found I like blogging that much, I started this blog. As far as second part of question is concerned, I believe to try your luck in your area of expertise. My banking profile is source of my living while blogging is passion. I am seriously thinking about full time blogger.
Me: Which social media do your prefer?
Yousaf: I personally prefer twitter. It works just like viral.
Me: I found your posts technically perfect with really genuine and great content. Could you please share your article composing process?
Yousaf: In simple words, Do research, make points, apply your own knowledge, list key points, and in last write it in logical order. Read my post on What is And How to Write Unique Content?
Me: PR 2 in 45 days is not a joke indeed. What were the tools and activities at your disposal for this achievement?
Yousaf: I always tried to minimize the initial investment. So where it is possible I use free tools available in market. Google keyword is my best partner. As far as on-page SEO is concerned, you have accurately analyzed my technique.
Me: I was making a study on one of your post “Lets get Second Click, Reduce Bounce Rate”. I was surprised to see the links back to the big websites like, Google, StatCounter in that post. Is there any reason for that? Are they meant for search engines or readers?
Yousaf: Suresh, this technique is very beneficial in three ways. By giving links to the tools or websites, my readers are not supposed to open new windows and type manually the address. You will notice that all my links open in new windows so that readers have separate windows for any experiment they want to perform.
Second benefit is, search engine like the posts/websites that quote and cite from authentic sources. This thing increases your PR because you are using outward links which are authentic as well. SEO is not the game of just incoming links.
Third reason is Technorati Authority. If my posts have references and definitions from recognized websites, I have more Techonorati Authority ranking.
Me: All of your posts are really great, but if you need to choose, to which one you’ll call your favorite?
Yousaf: Well, I like all my posts but my favorite one is No One is Helping You Out, Lets Steal SEO Strategy from Big Bs
Me: Would you like to share your personal life with my readers? How you are outside the blogging world. Your likes, dislikes.
Yousaf: Well Suresh, I have my bachelors degree in computer science and secured master degree in Business Administration with majors in finance. I was having most powerful hardware at that time for playing high profile games like you mentioned, NFS etc. Now all my concentration has been diverted to blogging and my sites’ success. I spent most of time on my laptop and do all blogging related activities.
I am very aggressive, totally fearless and love to accept challenges. I like listening songs, watching movies and helping out my friends when they need some guidance or advice in blogging or Computer.
Me: If you could give some useful advice to new bloggers, what would it be?
Yousaf: My only advice to new bloggers is Patience, Patience, Patience. Just work hard and don’t look at stats too frequently, because it will hurt you in start. Decide your posting frequency and see the results.
Me: If you would like to say something, I did not ask about?
Yousaf: I want to share a great wordpress plugin for monitoring of A to Z of your blog. That is stat press. Just install it and watch its magic.
Well, I finished my questions with Yousaf and hope you loved the way he talked. Now, its your turn. Do you like to ask anything with Imran?
